Yitzhak RabinBorn: Mar 1 1922
Yitzhak Rabin (1 March 1922 – 4 November 1995) was an Israeli politician, general, and statesman who served as the fifth prime minister of Israel. Born in Jerusalem to Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe, Rabin grew up in a Labor Zionist household. He had a distinguished military career, joining the Palmach as a teenager and eventually rising to the rank of Rav Aluf, leading Israel to victory in the 1967 Six-Day War. Rabin also played a pivotal role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process during his second term as prime minister, culminating in the signing of the Oslo Accords. He was assassinated in 1995 by an extremist opposed to the peace process, becoming the first Israeli prime minister to be assassinated.
