Description | Until the war broke out Bertram Polak lived with his father, stepmother and two sisters on the Prof. Dondersstraat 77 in Tilburg. His parents and sisters escaped the Netherlands in May 1940 and reached the USA via England. Bertram Polak was mobilised as a soldier and therefore could not join them. He moved to the Spoorlaan. He went into hiding, managed to get passage from IJmuiden, but was betrayed. |
