The Caribbean Community is a political and economic union of 15 member states (14 nation-states and one dependency) and five associated members throughout the Americas and especially the Caribbean basin. It differs from the rest of South and Central America in that the countries have a distinct Anglo-, French- or Dutch- Creole culture, product of the centuries-long British, French and Dutch colonization.
